UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili will defend his title against Sean O’Malley in the main event of UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey, on June 7, CEO Dana White announced Tuesday.
The women’s bantamweight title will also be defended in the co-main event, as champion Julianna Pena faces Kayla Harrison.
The headliner fight will be a rematch of UFC 306 when Dvalishvili won the bantamweight championship off O’Malley by unanimous decision. Dvalishvili has successfully defended the title once since, handing Umar Nurmagomedov his first MMA loss via unanimous decision at UFC 311 in January.
