Florida erased a 12-point second-half deficit to beat Houston 65-63 and capture the school’s first national title since 2007.
The Gators took a two-point lead with 19 seconds left in the game. Houston’s Emanuel Sharp was unable to get off his 3-pointer as time expired.
Florida star Walter Clayton Jr. didn’t make a field goal until the 7:54 mark of the second half. He finished the contest with 11 points and seven assists on 3-of-10 shooting from the field while going 1-of-7 from downtown.
