Dallas Mavericks bench boss Jason Kidd and the New York Knicks have “mutual intrigue” regarding the Knicks’ open head coaching job, reports ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
The Knicks have yet to officially ask the Mavs to interview Kidd. However, the expectation is that Dallas would deny such a request, sources told The Athletic’s James L. Edwards III.
New York fired Tom Thibodeau last week after he spent five seasons in charge. The Knicks just made their first Eastern Conference finals appearance in 25 years, in which they came up short against the Indiana Pacers.
