Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has been at his home estate in Texas and absent from the team’s summer football camps due to an unspecified health issue, according to USA Today’s Brent Schrotenboer.
Running the camps is reportedly one of the duties listed in his contract. Sanders was in attendance for the camps during his first two years as Colorado’s head boss.
He also canceled a speaking engagement for The Foundation for Sickle Cell Health Research, scheduled for June 8 in Florida, according to Schrotenboer. NBA Legend Magic Johnson is listed as his replacement.
Deion Sanders Jr., the Buffaloes head coach’s son, said on an Instagram livestream Sunday that his dad is “feeling well,” and added that “he’ll tell y’all soon enough what he going through, what he went through,” per Schrotenboer.
