LeBron James accepted his $52.6-million player option with the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2025-26 season, his agent Rich Paul told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
James will return to the Lakers for an eighth season with the franchise and his 23rd in the NBA. He signed with Los Angeles in June 2018 following his second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The 40-year-old is now set to surpass Vince Carter for the most seasons played in NBA history.
