Atlanta Braves right-hander Reynaldo López and Los Angeles Angels designated hitter Jorge Soler received seven-game suspensions for their roles in Tuesday’s benches-clearing brawl, MLB announced Wednesday.
López and Soler were also fined an undisclosed amount. Both players appealed their punishments.
López already reached an agreement to have his ban reduced to five games, according to Grant McAuley of 92.9 The Game. The pitcher will begin serving the suspension immediately, which means he won’t miss a start as a result of an off day.
