The NFL informed teams Tuesday that it won’t hold a supplemental draft in 2026.
This makes Brendan Sorsby ineligible to play this year. The Texas Tech quarterback was the only applicant for the league’s 2026 supplemental draft.
“As commissioner (Roger) Goodell has emphasized, participation in the NFL is a privilege that carries with it significant responsibilities, including accountability,” the NFL’s management council wrote to Sorsby. “By all accounts, you are a talented player with the potential for future success. We encourage you to focus on preparing for possible entry into the NFL through the 2027 NFL Annual Draft.”
