The Utah Jazz selected former Kansas star freshman Darryn Peterson with the No. 2 overall pick in Tuesday’s NBA draft.
One of the most talented recruits in Kansas’ history, according to longtime head coach Bill Self, Peterson lived up to the considerable hype in his lone collegiate season as a dominant three-level scorer. He led the Jayhawks with 20.2 points per contest and was one of just five freshmen last year to post a true-shooting percentage of at least 57% while attempting 14 or more shots per game.
