The San Francisco 49ers will be without quarterback Brock Purdy and wide receiver Ricky Pearsall against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday for a second consecutive game, the team announced Friday.
Purdy and Pearsall both missed the 49ers’ Week 5 win over the Los Angeles Rams. The signal-caller reaggravated a turf toe injury and is reportedly considered week-to-week. Meanwhile, Pearsall has been dealing with a knee ailment.
This leaves quarterback Mac Jones, who is 3-0 as a starter this season, in line for another start under center. However, Jones is also questionable on the injury report due to knee and oblique issues. If Jones can’t suit up, Adrian Martinez would be expected to be the primary signal-caller.
