Commanders Land Multiple Primetime Games
Washington will once again be featured prominently on national television during the 2026 season. The Commanders are currently scheduled for several primetime matchups, including:
- Monday Night Football vs. San Francisco 49ers
- Sunday Night Football vs. Eagles
- Thursday Night Football vs. Giants
- Monday Night Football at Cincinnati Bengals
The Week 8 showdown against Philadelphia on Sunday Night Football could carry major NFC playoff implications.
NFC East Battles Highlight the Schedule
As always, the NFC East schedule will play a huge role in Washington’s postseason hopes. The Commanders face the Eagles, Cowboys, and New York Giants twice each, including a potentially pivotal regular-season finale against Dallas in Week 18.
Washington also opens the year with back-to-back divisional games, setting the tone immediately for the season.
International Game Adds Unique Twist
The Commanders are scheduled to play an international game against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4. The matchup kicks off at 9:30 a.m. ET and gives Washington one of the league’s early overseas showcases.
Tough Late-Season Stretch Ahead
Washington’s schedule becomes more difficult late in the season with road trips to Minnesota and Jacksonville before finishing against Dallas. The Commanders will need strong performances in December if they hope to remain in the NFC playoff race.
Key games against the Eagles, Cowboys, Bengals, and 49ers could ultimately determine Washington’s playoff positioning in 2026.
