Team Talent Per Recruiting Metrics

Posted on February 20, 2019February 20, 2019 by Tyler Turner

I will breakdown the team talent for the upcoming year per the metric model that I used in a future post. Here is the rankings and my model is explained at the bottom.

  1. Alabama (171)
  2. Ohio State (157)
  3. Georgia (142)
  4. LSU (105)
  5. USC (92)
  6. Florida State (89)
  7. Texas(87)
  8. Clemson (83)
  9. Oklahoma (76)
  10. Texas A&M (63)(11)
  11. Penn State (63)(14)
  12. Notre Dame (62)
  13. Florida (61)
  14. Auburn (57)
  15. Tennessee (56)
  16. Michigan (53)
  17. Oregon (49)
  18. Miami (48)
  19. Stanford (34)
  20. Washington (31)
  21. UCLA (27)
  22. Mississippi State (26)
  23. South Carolina (17)
  24. Ole Miss (14)
  25. Nebraska (10)

The metrics that I used to conclude the talent on the upcoming rosters per the recruiting ranking was the following:

▪️Average recruiting ranking (25 points for #1, 24 points for #2, 23 points for #3, and etc.)+(5 x the amount of 5 stars on roster)+(4 x the amount of top 100 players on roster) and then +/- blue chip (4 or 5 star) transfers

▪️For tiebreakers I gave the advantage to the team that had a higher 5 year average ranking. I have that ranking in paranthesis beside the points.

Example:

Alabama( #1 average ranking) 25 points + (12 five stars x 5) 60 points + (22 top 100 players X 4) 88 points – two blue chip transfers= 171 points
