After days of interviewing, measuring, and testing the NFL combine is officially over and here is some of my winners and losers from the combine on the offensive side of the ball.
Winners
QB
Drew Lock (Missouri)-good times and testing numbers also looked solid in drills with accuracy and are strength.
Tyree Jackson (Buffalo)-fantastic sub 4.6 time, terrific arm strength in drills, and is also a very large man at 6’7.
Dwayne Haskins (Ohio State)-he is slow as molasses but he is a strong armed, accurate passer and that showed in drills. He also interviewed very well.
Jarret Stidham (Auburn)-he by all accounts performed very well and might have upped his draft stock by showing off arm and accuracy in passing drills.
LOSER
Daniel Jones (Duke)- up and down day that might cause scouts to go back and reevaluate his tape more.
WR
DK Metcalf (Ole Miss)-Blistering 4.33 in the 40 and freaky jumping numbers. Also massive at 6’5, 228 with 1.6% body fat.
Paris Campbell (Ohio State)-showed off his world class speed at 4.31.
A.J. Brown (Ole Miss)-solidified his 1st ground with a sub 4.5 in the 40. Looked great in drills.
Myles Boykin (Notre Dame)-tested at an elite level and has fanstastic tape. Think he is a possible 2nd round guy.
RB
Winners
Justice Hill (Oklahoma State)- tested by far the best at his postion. Also an explosive athlete on tape that provides versatility.
Miles Sanders (Penn State)-tested well and looked great in drills might be second back off the board.
Josh Jacobs (Alabam)-won because he was unable to compete due to injury and the running backs as a group were not that impressive and he is widely considered top RB.
Losers
Elijah Holyfield (Georgia)-tested with horrible numbers. 4.78 in the 40 and sub 30 inch vertical. Probably saw his stock plummet after his performance.
Tight End
Winners
Noah Fant (Iowa)-4.50 in the 40 and 39 inch vertical to go along with being jut an excellent receiving tight end made him a true winner at the combine.
TJ Hockenson (Iowa)-didnt blaze the 40 (4.7) but his fast short shuttle (4.18), drill work and overall tape make him a winner at TE. Probably will be first guy off the board at that postion.
Losers
Isaac Nauta (Georgia)-ran poorly at 4.9. Probably saw his draft postion plummet a bit.
Offensive Line
Winners
Andre Dillard (Washington State)-tested well, looked impressive in drills and his tape is phenomenal. Probably will see himself go in the first round.
Grant Bradbury (NC State)-solidfied his postion as top Center in draft with great numbers and great drill work.
Losers
Greg Little (Ole Miss)-tested poorly and look bad in drill work. Probably seeing himself slip in the draft possibly outside the First round.
