1) The Newcomers Shined
Starting with Penn State grad transfer Juwan Johnson who opened the game with a TD on a fade route the new faces for Oregon were extremely impressive. Mycah Pittman Freshman receiver led everyone with 7 catches for 48 yards; heralded recruit Kayvon Thibodeaux had a sack and a plethora of QB pressures; Josh Delgado Freshman receiver had a big 30 yard catch; and Freshman Cornerback Mykael Wright had 4 pass breakups and a game sealing interception off of QB Tyler Shough. The newcomers definetly showed that they will be in line to contribute significantly this fall despite the large amount of returning starters on both offense and defense.
2) Tyler Shough was Impressive
The Redshirt Freshman Quarterback showed his potential and that once Herbert leaves Oregon will still have a quality player behind center. He was 18-31 for 181 yards and made some nice plays both from inside and outside the pocket. His main target was Pittman but he did a solid job of facilitating the ball and making the right reads.
3) Oregon has undoubtedly best Spring Game atmosphere in PAC 12
While the rest of the PAC 12 had trouble filling the stands, Oregon had 35,000+ in attendance at Autzen stadium. Oregon also had a 100+ recruits on campus to experience the Spring Game. The Ducks had a couple of commitments to start off the weekend and probably will have more in the future because of the impact of the Spring Game atmosphere that currently does not have a rival in the PAC 12.
