The Maryland Terrapins football team are reportedly hiring FAU inside linebacker coach Lance Thompson as an assistant, according to Pete Thamel.
After stints at Georgia Tech and UCF, Thompson had long stretches of his coaching career at LSU, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn and South Carolina, mainly coaching linebackers and is known as a very strong recruiter. He has spent the past three seasons at FAU.
Maryland underwent a lot of change on the defensive side of the ball. Ex-defensive coordinator Brian Stewart declined a demotion and was replaced by Brian Williams, who served as defensive line coach and associate defensive coordinator last season.
