No. 10 Kansas State edged No. 4 TCU 31-28 in overtime to win the 2022 Big 12 Championship Game, marking the second defeat of a team projected for the College Football Playoff field entering conference championship weekend. The Wildcats held the Horned Frogs out of the end zone on three straight plays at the goal line in overtime to set up a game-winning field goal on their OT possession that ended TCU’s perfect season.
The Big 12 championship belongs to Kansas State for the first time since 2012, and its the Frogs’ first outright league crown since 2003.
