Florida State agreed to terms with head coach Mike Norvell on a lucrative contract extension, the school announced Friday.
Norvell’s new eight-year pact is worth more than $10 million per season, sources told Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger.
“We are thrilled that Coach Norvell has reaffirmed his commitment to Florida State University and our student-athletes,” vice president and director of athletics Michael Alford said in a statement. “As we move forward into a bright future, it is incredibly reassuring to know that Mike remained steadfast and focused on continuing his unifying, collaborative relationships with all of us at FSU.”
Norvell’s contract extension ends speculation that he could be a candidate for the Alabama coaching vacancy following Nick Saban’s retirement this week.
