The New York Jets will not trade Haason Reddick despite a request from the disgruntled pass-rusher to be moved, general manager Joe Douglas announced Monday.
“We have informed Haason that we will not trade him, that he is expected to be here with his teammates, and that he will continue to be fined per the CBA if he does not report,” Douglas said in a statement. “Since the trade discussions back in March we have been clear, direct, and consistent with our position. Our focus will remain on the guys we have here as we prepare for the regular season.”
Douglas’ response came shortly after news broke that Reddick had informed the franchise that he wanted to be traded. Reddick was dealt to the Jets in March after he was unable to find common ground with the Philadelphia Eagles – his former team – on a new contract.
