The Detroit Lions held on for a narrow 23-20 victory on Thanksgiving in dramatic fashion after a puzzling time management decision by the Chicago Bears left them out of time to attempt a potential game-tying field goal.
With the ball at the Lions’ 41-yard-line, the Bears elected not to use a time out and watched the clock run down before snapping the ball with six seconds remaining. Williams’ final pass downfield fell incomplete as time expired.
