Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is dealing with an aggravated disk in his back, sources told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The signal-caller received an epidural to help him deal with the pain, Rapoport adds. Los Angeles is still hopeful he’ll be ready for its season opener against the Houston Texans on Sept. 7.
Stafford hasn’t participated in team drills since the start of camp and is labeled as week-to-week. He’s on track to start working out this week and is expected to do on-field work in the coming days, a source told Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.
