The Minnesota Vikings are signing quarterback Carson Wentz after agreeing to trade backup signal-caller Sam Howell to the Philadelphia Eagles, sources told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Philadelphia will send a 2026 fifth-round pick and a seventh-round selection in the 2027 draft to Minnesota for a 2026 sixth-round pick and Howell, the teams announced Sunday.
Wentz has been a free agent after spending last season with the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s now set to be J.J. McCarthy’s backup this year after Minnesota’s quarterback room shuffle.
