The Baltimore Ravens and Kyle Hamilton agreed to a historic four-year, $100.4-million extension Wednesday that makes him the highest-paid safety in NFL history, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
The extension also contains a record-breaking $82 million in guaranteed money, Schefter adds. The previous benchmark in guaranteed money for a safety was $45 million by Antoine Winfield Jr. of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Hamilton’s average annual value of $25.1 million smashes the previous record set by Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph, who averages $21.25 million per year.
