The Seattle Mariners are one win away from reaching the ALCS for the first time since 2001 after defeating the Detroit Tigers 8-4 in Tuesday’s Game 3 at Comerica Park.
The Tigers entered the ninth inning trailing 8-1 before plating three runs against Mariners left-hander Caleb Ferguson. Seattle manager Dan Wilson brought in closer Andrés Muñoz, who got the game’s final three outs.
Mariners first baseman Josh Naylor made a game-ending double play to cap the contest.
