The trade that sent Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers contains a “poison pill” condition that is intended to stop the star pass-rusher from ending up with the Philadelphia Eagles in the coming years, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
If the Packers trade Parsons to an NFC East team, they would have to send the Cowboys their 2028 first-round draft pick, Schefter reports. The same clause applies if Dallas trades defensive lineman Kenny Clark – who went the other way in the Parsons deal – to an NFC North club.
The poison pill runs until the end of the 2026 season, according to Schefter.
