Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 28 points with eight assists in 27 minutes and the Oklahoma City Thunder blew out the Phoenix Suns 138-89, to win their NBA Cup quarterfinal Wednesday.
Oklahoma City will move on to Saturday’s semifinal in Las Vegas. It will face the San Antonio Spurs, who eliminated the Los Angeles Lakers in Wednesday’s second quarterfinal.
With their 24th win in 25 games, the Thunder equaled the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors for the best start to a regular season in NBA history. Their 16th straight victory also represents the longest winning streak in franchise history, overtaking the 15 straight games they won between December and January of last season.
