The New York Mets reached an agreement with infielder Jorge Polanco on a two-year contract worth $40 million, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Polanco is reportedly expected to primarily play first base and DH for the Mets in an effort to help fill the void left by Pete Alonso, who recently signed with the Baltimore Orioles.
Polanco primarily played DH and second base in for the Seattle Mariners in 2025. He’s played one game at first base in his 12-year MLB career.
