Texas quarterback Arch Manning will return to school to play in 2026, finally putting to rest questions about his future beyond this year.
In a text message to ESPN’s Dave Wilson on Monday night, Arch’s dad, Cooper Manning, said, “Arch is playing football at Texas next year.” Texas officials told ESPN the full expectation was that Manning would be back next season, even though Manning could have declared for the NFL draft as a redshirt sophomore.
In August, before the season even began, Arch’s grandfather, Archie Manning, drew headlines when he told Texas Monthly that Arch would be with Texas through 2026. Arch Manning walked it back at SEC Media Days, saying, “He texted me to apologize about that. I’m really just taking it day by day right now.”
