Milwaukee Bucks reportedly has agreed to trade Cole Anthony and Amir Coffey to Phoenix Suns in exchange for Nick Richard and Nigel Hayes-Davis, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Anthony, the former No. 15 pick in the 2020 Draft, is averaging 6.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 42.4% overall and 30.6% on 3-pointers. He has served solely as a backup in Milwaukee and will likely do the same in Phoenix behind Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin.
Phoenix (31-20) has exceeded many experts’ prognostications by remaining in the Western Conference’s playoff chase all season. Trading for Anthony should allow it to maintain that spot as it will reduce the wear and tear on Gillespie, Goodwin and its other guards.
