Utah Jazz forward Jaren Jackson Jr. will undergo surgery on his left knee to remove a localized PVNS growth, the team announced Thursday.
Although the Jazz said Jackson is expected to make a full recovery, he’ll likely miss the remainder of the season, sources told NBA insider Chris Haynes.
Pigmented villonodular synovitis is a noncancerous tumor that develops in the synovial tissue, the soft connective tissue of joints, according to Boston Children’s Hospital. PVNS most commonly affects the knee and hip.
