Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will sign with the Atlanta Falcons once the Miami Dolphins officially release him at the start of the new league year Wednesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The contract will be for one year and $1.3 million while the Dolphins pay the remaining balance of his salary, per CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones.
The Dolphins announced Monday that they’ll cut Tagovailoa, whom they drafted fifth overall in 2020, after six seasons. The team will reportedly designate him a post-June 1 cut, spreading his $99-million cap hit over the next two seasons.
