Netflix’s latest combat sports event featuring Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano performed well but attracted significantly fewer viewers than some of the platform’s previous major fight promotions.
The event generated 12.4 million global viewers (live and on-demand within 24 hours) and peaked at nearly 17 million viewers worldwide. In the U.S., it averaged 9.3 million viewers and peaked at 11.6 million during Rousey’s first-round submission victory.
Despite those numbers, the card trailed other Netflix combat events, including:
* Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua: 33 million viewers
* Terence Crawford vs. Canelo Alvarez: 36.6 million viewers
* Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson in 2024: 60 million viewers
However, the Rousey-Carano event still outperformed the fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, which drew 6 million viewers.
The report also notes that Netflix uses different audience measurement methods than traditional TV ratings systems, making direct comparisons with standard Nielsen ratings difficult.
