Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield revealed on Netflix’s upcoming season of “Quarterback” that he played through a multitude of injuries last season, according to 10 Tampa Bay News’ Evan Closky.
Mayfield discloses in the show that he played through a sprained MCL and PCL from as early as Week 2, Cosky adds. He reportedly rated his knee pain at a seven out of 10 by the time Tampa Bay returned from its Week 9 bye.
The 31-year-old also suffered a biceps injury in Week 3 and wore a sleeve throughout the season to cover up the bruising, per Cosky. On top of the knee and biceps issue, Mayfield dealt with an AC joint injury that forced him to exit a Week 12 game against the Los Angeles Rams. He ultimately started every contest during the campaign despite the numerous injuries.
