The Miami Heat’s YouTube channel briefly had a video titled “LeBron James Introductory Press Conference,” which was scheduled for July 27.
The team quickly took down the post and later released a statement.
“It was a mistake by the Heat’s social media department while preparing for the possibility of LeBron picking the Heat. But there is no validity to it right now,” the Heat told Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald.
A Miami reunion is among the reported destinations on James’ shortlist. The NBA’s all-time leading scorer spent four seasons in South Beach, winning his first two NBA titles and Finals MVP awards.
