Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Shemar Stewart hyperextended his knee and will receive treatment, head coach Zac Taylor announced Thursday.
“Fortunately, he avoided a major injury. So he hyperextended his knee. It’ll be several weeks,” Taylor said, per the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Kelsey Conway. “Hard to pinpoint exactly how much into training camp that’ll be, but very fortunate, because it obviously looked bad. … The good news is, we’ll be getting him back sooner rather than later.”
Stewart is believed to have avoided any ligament damage, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
