The New York Mets are trading left-handed reliever Brooks Raley to the Philadelphia Phillies, reports SNY MLB Insider Chelsea Janes.
In return, New York is receiving outfielder John Spikerman and right-handed pitcher Luke Gabrysh from Philadelphia.
Spikerman was ranked No. 27 on the Phillies’ top 30 prospects list that was released before the season. Gabrysh was not in the top 30.
A plus defender who has 70-grade speed, the 23-year-old Spikerman was selected in the third round of the 2024 MLB Draft. He has a .754 OPS this season for A-ball Clearwater and High-A Jersey Shore, with his .423 OBP standing out.
