The future of LIV Golf is in question following Sunday’s season finale in Indianapolis – which was supposed to be the penultimate event of the season before the originally scheduled season finale in Michigan was canceled.
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund – LIV Golf’s main investor since its inception in 2021 – announced in April that it would stop backing the league at the end of the season. LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil said earlier this month that the league secured funding from an unidentified investor that will help it survive beyond this campaign, but whether it’s enough funding to retain star players remains to be seen.
DeChambeau, who’s on an expiring contract, said Friday that he’s hopeful LIV gets “one more shot” to succeed.
