Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke is acquiring the Los Angeles Angels from the Moreno family, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment announced Tuesday.
Kroenke is buying a controlling interest in the franchise from Arte Moreno, who owned the Angels for over 23 years.
The Angels sold for an MLB-record price of about $4 billion, reports Jon Heyman of MLB Network, apparently eclipsing the $3.9-billion sale of the San Diego Padres in May.
The sale is expected to become official in the first quarter of 2027 following MLB approval, per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.
