Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyquan Thornton will undergo surgery for a dislocated ankle and is expected to miss three-to-four months, sources told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Thornton could return late in the season or during the playoffs, Rapoport adds.
Thornton suffered the ailment after hauling in a 55-yard reception late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. He stood up to celebrate the play after being tackled but then fell back to the turf upon realizing the severity of his injury. Thornton was carted off moments later.
