Head coach Sean Payton will be more heavily involved in offensive play-calling duties for the Denver Broncos on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Davis Webb has been calling Denver’s plays after being promoted to offensive coordinator in the offseason. He will continue to have a significant game-planning and game-day role despite the more collaborative approach, reports Schefter.
The Broncos rank 27th in the NFL in scoring and total yards. Denver is coming off a 24-14 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Payton called plays during the 2025 campaign in which the Broncos went 14-3 and won the AFC West. They lost to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.
