Penn State’s misery continued Saturday with 20.5-point underdog Northwestern storming into Happy Valley and emerging with a 22-21 upset win.
The loss is the Nittany Lions’ third straight, following the Oregon setback and the shocking defeat at UCLA last weekend. It’s also the second consecutive game Penn State has dropped as at least a 20-point favorite.
The preseason No. 2 team in the AP Poll again struggled mightily to move the ball on offense, with Drew Allar throwing for 137 yards in the loss. It’s the first time Penn State has lost three straight since 2021.
