Los Angeles Chargers star quarterback Justin Herbert won’t start in next Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Denver Broncos, head coach Jim Harbaugh announced Monday, according to Daniel Popper of The Athletic.
The Chargers have already secured a wild-card spot, though they can be seeded anywhere from fifth to seventh. Meanwhile, the Broncos will clinch the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage with a win Sunday.
Herbert suffered a fracture in his left hand in November, but the injury hasn’t caused him to miss any games.
