Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti has agreed to a new deal, raising his average annual salary to $13.2 million through 2033, a source told the Indianapolis Star’s Zach Osterman and Michael Niziolek.
This will mark Cignetti’s third extension with the Hoosiers in just over two years. His previous contract reportedly paid him $11.6 million per year.
A good-faith market clause in Cignetti’s previous extension allowed him to renegotiate the terms of his contract within 120 days after the Hoosiers reached the College Football Playoff semifinals. As a result of the reported agreement, the 64-year-old will leap ahead of Ohio State’s Ryan Day ($12.5 million) as the highest-paid coach in the Big Ten.
Cignetti has guided Indiana to a 27-2 record since taking over the program in November 2023. The Hoosiers won their first national title after going 16-0 in 2025, defeating Miami in the championship game.
