The season is about to begin and this is my updated formula. This year the changes were more substantial this year from right after signing day until the opening of fall camp. There was more transfer portal entrants than ever before and also more 6 year seniors, due to the extra COVID year that didn’t count against eligibility. In subsequent articles, I will talk more about talent on rosters per conference and which teams are continuing to improve their rosters and which teams have lost some ground in the talent acquisition department. I will also breakdown the talent tiers and compare to past years. Initial formula linked below.

Note:
- Player identified as “Blue chip player” are players that were rated either a 4 or 5 star coming out of high school.
- Player identified as a “top 100 player” is a player with a composite score of .9550 and above in the 247 talent composite.
- I use each players high school ranking unless they were not ranked or ranked under my minimum protocol, under these circumstances I use their 247 transfer ranking if applicable.
My formula explanation
Composite scores (ex. .9950) is based on 247 sports composite recruiting rankings.
(6 points) for player rated .9950-.1000
(5.5 points) for player rated .9850-.9949
(4.5 points) for player rated .9750-.9849
(3.5 points) for player rated .9550-.9749
(2.5 points) for player rated .9350-.9549
(1.5 points) for player rated .9150-.9349
(1.0 points) for player rated. .8950-.9149
(.75 points) for player rated .8750-.8949
(.50 points) for player rated .8550-.8749
(.25 points) for player rated .8350-.8599
(.10 points) for player rated .8150-.8349
(.05 points) for player rated .7950-.8149
-Each players score is added together (ex. 6+5.5+3.5) in order to come up with each teams score.
