The Los Angeles Lakers are preparing a massive, long-term deal for UConn’s Dan Hurley to become the team’s next head coach, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The reigning back-to-back NCAA national champion is set to meet Friday with Lakers vice president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka and owner Jeanie Buss, adds Wojnarowski.
Hurley reportedly informed UConn’s administration on Wednesday of his interest in speaking with the Lakers regarding their job opening.
