Highly touted prospect Abdul Carter is considering surgery after tests revealed the Penn State defensive end has a stress reaction in his right foot, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“There are mixed opinions on whether he needs surgery, and we will figure that out in the near future,” Carter’s agent Drew Rosenhaus said, per Schefter.
Carter learned about the injury after reportedly undergoing tests at the NFL combine. Rosenhaus said Carter is expected to return in eight weeks if he opts for surgery. However, the 21-year-old could instead work out at his pro day to show NFL teams he doesn’t need the procedure, Schefter reports.
