Today’s Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors Western Conference matchup is set to take place at the Chase Center. The visitors are 2-3 in their last five games. Tonight’s hosts, meanwhile, are winners of seven in a row. Coach Malone’s side won the first encounter in the Mile High City by four points.
The away side enters the game with a number of significant injury concerns. Christian Braun is listed as probable. Denver’s trio of Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Aaron Gordan are questionable to participate, and their progress will need to be monitored for this one. Coach Kerr will hope that Steph Curry will be good enough to play today, as he is also questionable.
Over/Under for Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors
The point total is too high for Monday evening’s fixture. Denver’s team can be a little casual on the defensive side of the ball at times; expect them to ramp it up for a playoff preview. Assuming two of the three players who have a question surrounding their status, for tonight play, this game should be something of an intense duel.
Golden State, meanwhile, is fairly consistent on that end of the court. Most nights they do a good enough job of frustrating opposing offenses. Since acquiring Jimmy Butler in particular, the intensity has picked up in that regard. This is more likely a game where neither team breaks 115.
Final pick: Under 234.5 (-110)
Moneyline/Spread for Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors
The oddsmakers expect Golden State to defend home court tonight. It is appropriately a small spread, however. Winning is certainly on the board, but not by two possessions. It’s telling that the line has come down a point since it opened.
Regardless, picking the underdogs who have a legitimate MVP candidate is something of a gift to potentially take advantage of. Selecting the road team to win outright is a step too far in terms of risk, but is worth consideration.
