Tuesday’s late NBA Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets game features two Western Conference opponents. This one will take place at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. Terrance Shannon Jr. is ruled out for the visitors. Aaron Gordon, Nikola Jokic, and Jamal Murray are all on the injury report. Gordon is questionable for the matchup, Jokic is probable, and Murray was able to be a practice participant on Monday. All are game-time decisions.
Minnesota owns the regular season series at this point with a 3-0 lead. They will go for the sweep as their last game in mid-March ended in a 115-95 victory. Gordon wasn’t available for that one, and Anthony Edwards scored a team-high 29 points. Julius Randle also contributed 25 points in his starting role.
Over/Under
The point total makes sense. With teams jockeying for playoff position and the postseason right around the corner, though, expect both sides to give all-out effort late Tuesday evening. More importantly, the defenses have picked up for Denver and Minnesota as of late. Especially if everyone ends up being able to suit up, this should be a fixture that ends up on the lower-scoring side of things.
Even if the likes of Edwards or Jokic go off, there won’t be enough scoring from others for this one to go over. A close game down the stretch or overtime could prove to be too much, but more likely than not this one sees the under hit.
Moneyline/Spread for Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets
Despite having lost the previous three encounters, Denver is the slight favorite on Tuesday. With the Grizzlies falling apart, though, Minnesota could make something of an upward run in the standings. That being said, against the Nuggets in Denver, this isn’t likely to be a game where they make up ground from their current seventh seed position.
Denver not only wins, most likely, but also covers. This could be a good spot to even potentially raise the spread by a couple of points to get more value for the Nuggets winning. Another Minnesota win is possible, but it’s highly unlikely that they sweep an ultra-talented Denver side.
