Basketball Hall of Famer Joe Dumars is finalizing a deal to become the new president of basketball operations for the New Orleans Pelicans, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Tuesday.
Dumars spent 14 seasons as the president of the Detroit Pistons from 2000-14 and was the architect of their 2004 championship squad.
The Pelicans parted ways with executive vice president David Griffin on Monday after six seasons.
