TNT Sports is expanding its sublicense agreement with ESPN for College Football Playoff (CFP) games. Originally set to cover two first-round games and one quarterfinal starting in 2026, the deal will now include a semifinal game each season from 2026 to 2028. ESPN had initially planned to keep all the games but accepted TNT’s offer, which allows ESPN to retain ad revenue. This expansion comes despite TNT’s lower-than-expected ratings in the first year of the deal. The move is part of TNT Sports’ broader strategy to grow its sports portfolio after losing NBA rights, with recent deals in college football, basketball, tennis, and soccer.
