Jeremy Sochan is set to receive a 2026 NBA championship ring regardless of which team wins the NBA Finals. The 22-year-old forward played for both the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks during the 2025-26 season, putting him in the rare position of being eligible for a championship ring from either franchise.
Sochan began the season in San Antonio, appearing in 28 regular-season games before being waived by the Spurs. Following the All-Star break, he signed with the Knicks and played 16 regular-season games for New York. Under longstanding NBA tradition, teams often award championship rings not only to players on the Finals roster but also to players who contributed during the regular season. As a result, Sochan is expected to be recognized by whichever team captures the title.
The former ninth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft established himself as a key contributor during his first three seasons with the Spurs, starting 149 games and averaging at least 11 points per season. However, his role in San Antonio diminished this year, ultimately leading to his departure. Since joining New York, Sochan has provided depth off the bench and has appeared in five playoff games, averaging 4.0 points and 1.0 rebound per contest.
As the Spurs and Knicks prepare to meet in the 2026 NBA Finals, Sochan already knows he will leave the season with a championship ring, making him one of the few players guaranteed to celebrate a title no matter the outcome of the series.
