The Boston Celtics are going all-in on trying to acquire Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
Boston has reportedly made Jaylen Brown available in a potential deal for Antetokounmpo after previously being cautious about including the 29-year-old.
The aggressive approach puts the Celtics alongside the Miami Heat among finalists to land the two-time MVP in a deal that could come together before the NBA draft gets underway Tuesday, Windhorst adds. Miami has been trying to recruit third and fourth teams into a potential trade to improve its offer.
The Heat currently hold the 13th overall selection, while the Celtics are set to select 27th overall. Both Boston and Miami can include up to three first-round selections in a potential deal.
